Glad To Meet You!

Welcome! I couldn’t be more thrilled to have you as a guest at Fabletime. Since this web site is really all about stories, and since you clicked through on “About Me,” I guess I should share a little of my story and how Fabletime came to be.

My name is Jon. I grew up in Denver, Colorado. I love the city, and I worked in it for many years. I will always be grateful for my work and my coworkers.

I am now retired. I live in a small house, between the city and the mountains, with the sweetest little white dog. If you could find “good dog” in the dictionary, I’m sure it would include her picture.

I have always enjoyed learning and exploring and believe you should take wisdom wherever you find it. You can find a lot of it in the children’s section of the library.

I guess that was my inspiration for starting to capture stories of my own. The stories you find on Fabletime were largely written during holiday seasons over the years, and were included in holiday cards I sent to family and friends. After a fair amount of cajoling to share the stories more broadly (from an incredibly impartial fan base of loved ones – grin) I decided to create Fabletime.

I’m often asked where the stories come from. I don’t know exactly. I like to think of them floating around in space just waiting for someone to write them down. What I know is that the stories of the people, animals and creatures I meet as I write somehow capture my fancy, and that they often say to me exactly what I need to hear at the time.
